Bolton Academy's Prospective Parent Night this Thursday, November 9th from 6:30-8.
We would love for all parents and community members to come learn more about your neighborhood school. The meeting will be held in the Media Center and provide information on our signature International Baccalaureate (IB) program which all schools in our North Atlanta Cluster use to enhance their curriculum and instruction. We will explain how IB helps complement our learning strategies with the Daily 5 in reading, our Eureka Math modules, Social Studies and Science. We will also spend some time discussing our Dual Language Immersion Program (DLI). This program requires that interested parents enroll in a lottery system to determine which children will be accepted as space is limited to two classrooms. The students accepted into our DLI program spend half of their day learning in Spanish and half of their day learning in English. Research shows that learning in two languages from an early age helps with brain development, flexibility and an ability to think in a different way which leads to openmindedness and, in many cases, higher test scores. We will also provide a short overview of our Pre-K program for parents with younger children.
Various members of our administration, staff, PTA Board, Go Team (focuses on the strategic vision and plan for Bolton Academy), Soaring Owls Foundation (parent fundraising organization) and a Sutton Middle School parent will all be on hand to answer any questions you may have about our sweet community. We truly hope you can come join us to learn more about who we are and hear how much we'd love for you and your family to join us at Bolton Academy!
