News From the Nest - March 26th

Can you believe next week is Spring Break? I know our students are excited to have a break, but I want to encourage everyone to continue reading and using My Backpack to access educational activities for your child over the break.  Also, please remember that our dismissal schedule goes back to our normal time (2:30 pm) starting the Monday we return from Spring Break (April 9).
This week is a busy week for us!  First, students are finishing up STAR testing for reading and math.  We have been encouraging students to take this test seriously because the administration team will be reviewing each score.  Parents will receive their child’s scores after Spring Break.
Second, our spring concert is this Wednesday. If your child is in the play, we would love for you to join us in the audience. The performance times are 9:00 and 10:15 am. Please note that not all classes participate in the performance; your child should know if they are performing.
Last, but certainly not least, the Boosterthon Fun Run will be Friday.  The community has already done an outstanding job getting lots of pledges to support our students and our school.  I am very excited to see how many Chromebook Carts we will be able to purchase with the funds!  Our goal is for each grade level to have two carts for daily use.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me or Ms. Strickling. I hope everyone is following my Twitter page, as I post items throughout the day.  Your child, their class, or teacher may be spotlighted!

We hope everyone has a fun and safe Spring Break next week!
