Please join us on Thursday at 5:30 pm for our General PTA Meeting and Parent Empowerment Night.  We will be serving pizza from 5:30- 6 pm during the General PTA Meeting.  This is a very important PTA meeting as we will be holding our PTA elections for the next school year.

Parents, we really need your help.  Our PTA Co-President (2) and Co-President Elect (2) positions are still open.  These positions are critical to the success of the PTA.  We are so thankful that we have five existing board members returning to the board, and two new parents fulfilling the VP, Teacher Support, and Treasurer Elect positions.  Every existing board member has either a full or part-time job so we truly understand how precious your time is.  We meet about once a month and always have a good time doing it.  Please consider serving your school this upcoming school year.  We need you!

Following our General PTA meeting, our administration will host the Spring Parent Empowerment Night.  You can select from a variety of different sessions that peak your interest from 6 to 8 pm. Childcare for Pre-K through 5th grade children will available after the pizza dinner.  You can choose from the following sessions:

  • International Baccalaureate- An overview of the IB Primary Years Programme and how it is implemented at Bolton Academy.
  • Preparing for the ELA Milestone Assessment- Providing information to parents on how to help their students be comfortable with the ELA section of the GMAs.
  • Preparing for the Math Milestone Assessment- Providing information to parents on how to help their students be comfortable with the mathematics section of the GMAs.
  • Supporting the ESOL Learner through the co-teach model- An overview of how Bolton Academy provides instructional support to our ESOL students through the co-teach model.

As you may notice, we have changed up some of the sessions from last fall to make sure we are providing new content for our parents.  While our topics are more applicable to some of our parents than others, we encourage all parents to come out and attend the sessions.  It may seem like your child's Milestone assessment is far off, but trust us when we say it will be here before you know it.  We really hope to see you all at the PTA Meeting and Parent Empowerment Night!
